222 RF Raises Nearly $1500 for We Care Shop

On September 4, 2021 The 222 Recreational Foundation held a group ride in an effort to raise money to assist the St. Helen We Care Shop, a charity thrift store. Joe Spurgeon, of S& S Powersports laid out a route and Matt Henning, 222 RF President and group leader of Northern Michigan Braaap Gods led the group. Members of the committee prepared side dishes and John Sutter of The We Care Shop grilled hot dogs for the group after the ride. The hot dogs were donated by the Saint Helen Snowpackers. “This was a great way for members of the ORV Community to come together for a local charity in need following a year in limbo due to Covid”, stated Scott Marshall, Secretary of 222 RF. Marshall, of Scotteez Apparel & More donated t-shirts at no cost for the participants. “The ride was the best ever”, stated Tom Swan, Vice President of 222 RF. All agreed that they could not wait for the next event. A total of $1,446.60 was presented to John Sutter by Matt Henning. Sutter was also presented with a ride t-shirt bearing the signatures of the participants. The ride also netted over $350 toward their scholarship program.
